Belgrade Archbishop and Metropolitan Msgr Stanislav Hočevar sent a Christmas message to His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Irinej

His Holiness
Irinej,
Archbishop of Peć,
Metropolitan of Belgrade-Karlovci
Serbian Patriarch,
Belgrade
Christmas message at Christmas in 2019
The indescribable Secret of incarnation and birth of the Eternal Son, which we joyfully celebrate in feast days of Christmas, shines stronger once again in our eyes, bringing us the light of Truth, warmth of Love, power of the Almighty. Our hearts, our souls, our reason and our feelings open up to the deepest contemplation. The strength of this genuine contemplation eradicates all boundaries that a man has made or our sins have brought them about. “The Sun of Justice”, which derives from that “inaccessible light”, reveals entirely new insights for us. All of us, joyfully and with hope in our hearts, meet in such magnificent perspective.
Your Holiness, I wish You peace, joy, profound congratulations and the most sincere wishes of our Belgrade Archdiocese: all priests, deacons, monks and nuns, people devoted to God and all believers as well. Although there aren’t many of us, our happiness and joy are enormous! We are all crying out to You, Your Holiness, to all hierarchs, clergy, monasticism and pious people:
Peace from God! Christ is born – Indeed He is born!
May the peace from Heaven floods Your holy Church! May that peace remain in 2019, when Your holy autonomous Serbian Orthodox Church is giving thanks for 800 years of its existence. We are all joining to Your joy and gratitude. And all of us – joyous since God enriched you so much throughout history – wish for you to be an inspiration to all members of Your Church and the power to the citizens of our country and whole region.
We are praying continuously for this and we greet You with great respect!
† Stanislav Hočevar,
Belgrade Archbishop and Metropolitan
